The group

We are at the moment 16 members in our group, of whom four of us were the founder of the group. The head of the group is named by the title “the vassal”. The aim for our group is to propagate knowledge about the medieval period through living history also known as reenactment. We are working with the medieval period as a whole. Many would argue that it is a very wide period to be focused at, but we also want to show the progress through the medieval period e.g. in the development of arms and armour or textile fashion. From time to time we focus on a specific period. In the last couple of seasons we have been focusing on the gothic period. We are proud to announce that we are working with Janus Møller Jensen PhD in History and curator at Nyborg Slot. JM Jensen has written an article about Denmark and the crusades to the Holy Country, you should have a look at it.

Our martial art group consists of eight persons, of who four has participated and passed the Fiore Basic Combat level, certified by the instructors Rob Lovett and Mark Berryman from the Exiles – Company of Medieval Martial Artists. We do not only train Italian medieval martial art. We also follow German medieval martial arts schools and we combine the different styles in one and one fights. We also do show fights of different types. E.g. unarmed fighting, fighting with daggers and fighting with sword combined with different types of shields. We also use pole weapons in fact all the kind of medieval weapons we can lay our hands upon. We train a lot and we love a good fight but our mantra is safety first.
