The group was founded the 12th November 2006, by five of the current members. The founding members had originally been doing living history in an other group but it was time for changes and to explore new possibilities in living history.
The origin main aim for the group is to cover the period from the Viking age to the renaissance period, through living history. Be focusing on different periods will we in the future be able to cover that large period. We have earlier been working with the Norman period, and currently we are working with the gothic period.
Most of the members in Lupus Tempus have a great commitment to Western medieval martial arts. We train often and the martial arts group participates in different workshops of fighting.
But Lupus Tempus is not only a martial arts group. We also do craftsmanship in different categories e.g. textile creation, old fun and games and wickerwork. As a group we focus on the life in a field camp, medieval cooking material and social gatherings.
The people of the group have lots of different expertises and we do our best to teach other so we are creating interdisciplinary knowledge and therefore we are able do work with lots of different field subjects. Cooking, craftsmanship, fun and game, music and martial art are just some of the areas we are working with and therefore finds very interesting.
To strengthen the social milieu of the group we gather together ones a month, at least, and do all kinds of social activities. Also the martial arts group gathers ones a week for training medieval martial arts.
At the monthly meetings we discuss all kinds of thing, e.g. what kind of markets we would like to take part of. We also gather together for non medieval activities just to have a chat and share thoughts.
One thing though we are being very seriously with at our meetings is to create reenactment dressings and equipment. We all agree to that it is indeed very nice to create your one stuff and do it together.
